The Trading Online Voucher is a scheme run by the Local Enterprise Offices (LEOs) to help small Irish businesses build or improve how they trade online. It can pay for part of a new website, an online shop, online booking or digital marketing.
The details below describe how the scheme has typically worked. Terms can change, so always check with your Local Enterprise Office at localenterprise.ie before you spend anything.
How much is it worth?
LEOs have typically offered up to €2,500, or 50% of eligible costs (excluding VAT), whichever is lower. So for a €3,000 website the voucher could cover €1,500, and you pay the rest.
Who can apply?
The criteria have usually included:
- a small business with 10 or fewer employees;
- trading for at least six months;
- turnover under €2 million;
- a limited online trading presence today;
- based in the area of the LEO you apply to.
Many LEOs also ask you to attend a short Trading Online information session first.
How it works
- Talk to your Local Enterprise Office and check you're eligible.
- Get quotes for the work. LEOs usually ask for quotes from suppliers as part of the application.
- Apply and wait for approval. Money you spend before the voucher is approved usually doesn't count.
- Do the project and pay your supplier.
- Claim the voucher with your invoices and proof of payment.
